The Guildhouse Project is a not-for-profit collective of creatives from a wide range of craft-focused disciplines.

Rooted in the legacies of historic craft guilds, bringing values and discourse central to the Arts and Crafts Movement of the 19th century, and inspired by the vibrant, connective culture of the French salon tradition, the Project builds on these frameworks to address the challenges of contemporary creatives and foster positive social change.

Members participate in regular events, ongoing collaborative projects and exhibit their work publicly throughout the year.

history

Established in 2024, the founding members of The Guildhouse Project were brought together by a need for accessible exhibition space. They quickly discovered a common vision for a broader creative community during a time of profound, systemic isolation and unprecedented loss in the colloquial value of art, craft and human connection.

mission

We aim to support, strengthen and broaden the creative practices and communities of our members through education, collaboration and connection.

Create beautiful things.

Education: learning through workshops, facilitated dialogues and shared experiences encourages us to enrich our practices, experiment in new disciplines and expand our perspectives

Create beautiful things, together.

Collaboration: nurturing project-based partnerships between members encourages flexibility, diversity and accessibility which improves the reach and quality of our work

Create beautiful things together, and share it.

Connection: interacting with the wider community through events inspires members and visitors to see new ways of looking at the world, enriches local culture and supports members economically.
